RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival 2012
Netherlands Region – February 2012
Rise up and be inspired this winter as RISE - Fly Fishing Film Festival 2012, the world's most extensive fishing film festival, hits theatres on the European leg of it's 2012 worldwide tour.
In it's 6th year, RISE - Fly Fishing Film Festival is on a mission to celebrate the diverse world of fly fishing, to connect anglers through shared experience, and to create public awareness of fly fishing's new dynamic emergence. The festival allows the fly fishing community to share their passion for the sport by attending film screenings across the country. There is no equivalent event in the world. It's the biggest kick-off to the fishing season there is!
RISE showcases exclusive premieres from the world's best fly fishing film makers as well as local content from European film makers. Cinema audiences will be electrified by stunning footage from France, Slovenia, New Zealand, Alaska and USA, presented in high definition on the big screen. Check out www.flyfishingfilmfestival.eu for all tour information, videos, photos and more.
Gin-Clear Media's HATCH is the feature film of the festival. HATCH documents the world's most extraordinary insect hatches and the fantastic fly fishing that accompanies them. There are massive hatches of mayfly on the chalkstreams of England, trout eating ants off bridges in Slovenia, huge cicadas eaten by equally huge trout in the streams of NZ and even a feeding frenzy after a 'hatch' of krill in the ocean. The film explores remote corners of the world for hidden fly fishing treasures, while seamlessly highlighting the pivotal role fly fishers play as guardians of the water.
As fly fishers, spending time in wild places brings us closer to the natural world. In this soulful place, we are catalyzed to enjoy, learn and protect. This understanding and commitment to wild places is what defines fly fishers; RISE celebrates and shares this spirit by bringing each adventure to life on the cinema screen.
For many, RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival has become so much more than just going to the cinema. These annual fish-fests have become a true celebration of fly fishing, it's an excuse to get together with friends and reminisce about the past season as well as look forward to the season to come.
Gin-Clear Media is a multi-media company, based in Te Anau, New Zealand, whose enterprises include leading feature films, websites, events and exhibitions. RISE is Gin-Clear Media's 6th annual film festival, adding to its increasingly important influence in the fly fishing film genre.
